Electrolux dryers are built by the same company as Frigidaire and share many of their parts. Our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, see the same Electrolux problems again and again: heating elements, thermostats and restricted vents, drive motors and rollers, and control boards. On many of these calls the display shows a code, and the code tells us where to start, not which part to buy.

1. Not heating
A failed heating element is the most common Electrolux dryer repair we do. In July 2024 an Electrolux simply stopped heating and the element had burned out. In May 2025 an Electrolux showing E60 wasn’t getting hot and needed a new element. In November 2025 an Electrolux showed E64, and in August 2026 another one with E64 wasn’t heating even after being unplugged and plugged back in. Both needed new heating elements.
On these dryers the element is a ring behind the drum. Before we replace it, we check it with a meter and look at the vent: a restricted vent makes an element run hot and burn out again.
2. Shuts off after a few seconds, or overheats
When an Electrolux starts and then stops after a few seconds or minutes, the cause is often in the heating circuit. In February 2026 an Electrolux that shut off a few seconds into every cycle needed a new heating element, and in June 2026 another that turned off 5 to 10 seconds after starting needed the same repair.
In March 2026 an Electrolux was overheating and then shutting off, with E63 on the display. In April 2026 another showed E63 and was taking far too long to dry. In October 2026 an Electrolux showed E65; we replaced the thermostat and cleaned the vent duct. With any of these, the vent is part of the repair, because a clogged duct is what overheats the dryer in the first place.

3. Won’t start, won’t spin, or noisy
- Burned board or harness. In July 2025 an Electrolux that wouldn’t turn on had a burned control board and wire harness.
- Blocked blower. In September 2026 an Electrolux wouldn’t start because a small towel had jammed the blower. We removed it and installed new drum rollers.
- Drive motor and belt. In January and February 2026 we were called to Electrolux dryers whose drums weren’t turning. A dryer that hums but doesn’t spin usually has a broken belt, a seized roller or a failed motor.
- Noise. In December 2024 an Electrolux was making a frequent grunting sound, and in April 2026 another was making loud noises. Worn rollers and idler pulleys are the usual cause.
4. Ventless and steam models
Compact Electrolux ventless dryers condense moisture into a container or pump it to a drain. In February 2025 a stacked Electrolux ventless dryer kept warning that the water container was empty, yet pulling out the condenser released a puddle of water. The drain pump had failed and we replaced it. In May 2026 a stacked ventless unit wasn’t draining because the outlet pipe from its tray was clogged; clearing it fixed the problem.
Electrolux steam dryers have a water inlet valve. In December 2024 and September 2025 we replaced inlet valves, and in February 2026 we were called to an Electrolux that had water inside the drum.

Before you call: three quick checks
- Clean the lint filter and check that the outside vent flap opens when the dryer runs.
- Check the breaker. An electric dryer needs 240 volts; if one half of a double breaker trips, the drum can turn while the heat stays off.
- On a ventless model, empty the water container and clean the filters as your manual describes.
Repair or replace?
Heating elements, thermostats, rollers, belts, valves and drain pumps are inexpensive repairs on an Electrolux dryer. Control boards and motors cost more, so on an older dryer we give you an honest repair-versus-replace number. Either way, you get a written quote before any work starts, and the $99 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
The most common cause on our calls is a burned-out heating element. A tripped half of the breaker, a failed thermostat or a clogged vent can also stop the heat.
On several of our calls the heating element was at fault. Overheating from a restricted vent and control problems can also shut the dryer down.
They point to the heating and temperature-sensing circuit. On our calls, E64 ended with new heating elements and E65 with a new thermostat and a cleaned vent. A technician should test the parts before anything is replaced.
Yes. We repair compact Electrolux ventless and stacked units, including drain pumps, clogged outlet pipes and condensers.
The service call is $99 and is waived if you go ahead with the repair. You get a written quote for parts and labor before we start, so there are no surprises.
