1. Not cooling
When a Bosch fresh food section warms up, we check the fans before the compressor, because a stopped fan cuts off the cold air even when the sealed system is fine.
- Evaporator fan. In February 2025 a Bosch whose refrigerator and freezer weren’t cooling needed a new fan motor.
- Condenser fan. In June 2025 a Bosch that wasn’t cooling needed a new condenser fan.
- Compressor and sealed system. In July 2024 we tested the compressor of a Bosch that wasn’t cooling. In June 2025 another Bosch needed sealed-system repair, and in June 2026 a Bosch with water leaking inside had a refrigerant leak in the fresh food section that had been found earlier.
2. Freezer not freezing
In July and August 2026 we had several Bosch freezers that weren’t freezing. On one of them, in July 2026, we connected gauges and worked on the sealed system at the compressor. A freezer that’s cold but not freezing can also be a fan, a frosted coil or a door seal, so we check those before anyone talks about refrigerant.

3. Ice maker stopped
Ice makers are the most common reason Bosch owners call us. In March, April and May 2025 Bosch ice makers needed new ice maker assemblies. In January 2026 we were called to two more Bosch ice makers that had stopped, including one in the freezer.
Bosch ice maker parts aren’t always in stock. In April 2026 the ice maker a Bosch needed was out of stock everywhere, so we always check availability before quoting a repair.
4. Controls, modes and error messages
In May 2026 a six-month-old Bosch under warranty stopped making ice and dispensing water, and had shown E14 and E69 before. The owner had unplugged it, and after it was plugged back in it stopped cooling. It was stuck in Sabbath mode. We took it out of Sabbath mode and it started cooling again, with no parts needed.

- Check the mode. Sabbath, vacation or eco settings change how a Bosch cools and can turn off the ice maker and lights.
- Keep the vents clear inside the fresh food and freezer sections, and keep the area around the base clean so the condenser can breathe.
- Check the ice maker switch and the water supply, and make sure the water filter isn’t overdue.
