Electrolux front-load washers are built by the same company as Frigidaire and share many parts with Frigidaire front loaders. Our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, see the same Electrolux problems again and again: door gaskets, inlet valves, drain pumps and filters, door locks and strikes, shocks and bearings, and control boards.

1. Leaking
Water under a front loader usually comes from the door gasket, an inlet valve, or the drain pump. In February 2026 water was dripping from the bottom center of an Electrolux door, and a new door gasket fixed it. In May 2025 a leaking Electrolux needed a new water valve assembly, and a stacked Electrolux needed both a new gasket and a new drain pump.
Not every leak is the washer. In May 2025 a customer called about an Electrolux leaking, and the washer was fine: the drain line in the house was clogged and water was backing up.
2. Not draining (E21)
Electrolux front loaders have a drain filter behind a small door at the bottom front. When it clogs, the washer stops with water in the drum. In November 2025 an Electrolux showed E21 and wouldn’t drain; cleaning the drain pump and the filter under the drum fixed it. In March 2025 another stopped after a wash because the pump was clogged, and in January 2026 an Electrolux needed a new drain pump.

3. Water fill, temperature and rinse (E11)
In March 2025 an Electrolux kept showing E11. It needed a new water valve and a new control board. In February 2025 a stacked Electrolux would only wash in hot water, which points to the inlet valve or its wiring. In May 2025 another stacked Electrolux needed a new water level sensor, and in October 2025 we were called to one that wasn’t rinsing.
4. Door won’t lock or latch
A front loader won’t start until the door locks. In December 2025 an Electrolux door wouldn’t latch because a piece of the door strike had broken off and jammed inside the lock; we replaced the door lock. In January 2026 the metal strike on another Electrolux had broken off completely.
5. Won’t turn on
In May 2026 an Electrolux that wouldn’t turn on needed a new motor control board. In January 2026 we were called to an Electrolux with no power at all. We always check the outlet and the power supply before we replace a board.
6. Noise, vibration and odor
- Shocks. In May 2024 Electrolux washers that were noisy and not working right needed new shocks, and one also needed a door seal.
- Bearings. In April 2025 an Electrolux needed new bearings.
- Spin vibration. In April 2026 an Electrolux was shaking and moving hard during spin. Check that it’s level and the shipping bolts are out before you call.
- Odor and debris. Front loaders collect residue in the door gasket and debris in the drum. In September 2025, November 2025 and October 2026 we deep-cleaned Electrolux washers and removed foreign particles that were stuck inside.

Before you call: three quick checks
- Clean the drain filter behind the small door at the bottom front. Keep a towel and a shallow pan ready for the water.
- Check the water valves behind the washer are fully open, and that the hoses aren’t kinked.
- Use HE detergent in the right amount, and leave the door open after a wash so the gasket can dry.
Repair or replace?
Gaskets, drain pumps, filters, valves, door locks and shocks are reasonable repairs on an Electrolux washer. Bearings and control boards cost more, so on an older washer we give you an honest repair-versus-replace number. Either way, you get a written quote before any work starts, and the $99 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Start with the drain filter behind the small door at the bottom front. If it's clean, the drain pump may be clogged or failed. On one of our calls, cleaning the pump and filter cleared an E21.
The most common causes on our calls were the door gasket, the water valve assembly and the drain pump. Sometimes the leak is a clogged house drain, not the washer.
Usually the door lock has failed or the metal strike on the door is broken. On one call a broken piece of the strike was jammed inside the lock.
Electrolux and Frigidaire are made by the same company, and many front-load washer parts are shared between them.
The service call is $99 and is waived if you go ahead with the repair. You get a written quote for parts and labor before we start, so there are no surprises.
