LG Dryer Repair
LG dryer repair in Denver: squeaking and drum problems, d80 Flow Sense codes, no heat on electric and gas models. 24/7, 90-day warranty.
LG dryer repair in Denver — noise, drum, no-heat and d80 airflow problems on electric and gas models. LG dryers are good at telling you when air can’t get out: the d80, d90 and d95 codes and the Flow Sense bars. They are less clear about squeaks, thumps and damp clothes. We repair LG front-load electric and gas dryers, including pedestal, stacked and WashTower installs, across Denver and 30 nearby cities, 24/7.

Since January 2024 we have completed 131 LG dryer calls. About one in three was noise or the drum: squeaking, thumping, grinding or a drum that stopped turning. About one in five was no heat or slow drying, and about one in seven came in with a d80-type airflow code or a vent problem.

1. Squeaking, thumping or a drum that won’t turn
This is the most common reason we get called to an LG dryer. The drum rides on two rear support rollers and is turned by a belt that wraps around it, with an idler pulley keeping the belt tight. All of these wear:
- Squeak or squeal that gets worse over time. Usually dry, worn drum rollers or the idler pulley.
- Rhythmic thump. A flat spot on a roller, or a worn drum glide.
- Motor runs, drum doesn’t turn. A broken belt. Ignore it and the dryer can also overheat.
- Grinding or scraping metal. Something caught between the drum and the cabinet, or a roller that has worn down to its hub.
Rollers, belt and idler pulley are sold together as a repair kit, and when one part is worn the others usually are too, so we replace them as a set.
2. d80, d90, d95 and Flow Sense
LG dryers measure how freely air leaves the dryer. LG’s codes mean the exhaust is restricted by about 80%, 90% or 95%; d75 and the Flow Sense bars warn earlier. On gas models, LG notes that d80 can also mean no gas supply.
LG’s first steps: clean the lint filter, run a smaller load, and check the hose behind the dryer for crushing, kinks or coils. In our experience the restriction is usually in one of three places:
- The vent run itself. Long runs, crushed foil hose behind the dryer, or a roof or wall cap blocked with lint or a stuck flap.
- Inside the dryer. Lint packed under the lint filter housing and around the blower, where cleaning the filter doesn’t reach.
- The sensor. If the vent is clear and the code still comes back, the thermistor that measures the airflow can be the problem.

3. No heat or clothes still damp
- Electric LG dryers. A failed heating element, thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat or thermistor. Also check power: LG’s nP code means no current at the heater, usually a house wiring or breaker issue on the 240V circuit.
- Gas LG dryers. The igniter or the gas valve coils, or simply a closed gas valve. LG shows “gAS” when no gas reaches the dryer.
- Either type. A restricted vent makes the dryer overheat and shut its heat off, and over time it burns these parts out. That is why we check airflow on every no-heat call.

From our service log
- November 2025, d80 and d90 that kept coming back. An LG dryer kept stopping with airflow codes. We replaced the thermistor assembly, and the codes cleared.
- October 2025, d80 plus a squeak. An 8-year-old LG dryer showed d80 and squeaked while running. Two separate problems: the drum rollers had seized, and the vent needed cleaning. We fixed both.
- February 2024, drum stopped tumbling. The motor ran but the drum didn’t. The support wheels, belt and motor all needed replacing.
4. Burning smell
Stop using the dryer. On LG dryers we usually find lint that has collected around the heater or under the lint filter housing, sometimes with a slipping belt. It needs to be cleaned out and checked before the next load.
LG dryer error codes
Codes and meanings below are from LG’s own support documentation. Some codes differ by model, so check your manual too.
| Code | What LG says it means | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| d75/ |
Exhaust restricted about 75–95%; on gas models d80 can also mean no gas | Clean the lint filter, smaller load, check the vent hose for kinks or crushing |
| tE1/ |
Thermistor problem | Reset: unplug, hold Start/Pause 5 seconds, plug back in; if it returns, call |
| tE2 | Thermistor problem, usually in cold conditions | Clean the lint filter; check the outside vent flap for snow, ice or lint |
| HS | Humidity sensor error | Wipe the sensor bars below the lint filter with a damp cloth |
| nP | No current at the heater, usually house wiring | Check the 240V plug; turn the breaker off for 10 seconds |
| PS | Wrong voltage in the power cord | Have the cord connection at the terminal block checked |
| gAS | No gas reaching the dryer, not a fault code | Open the gas valve fully; check the gas line for kinks |
| dE | Door not fully closed | Push the lint filter in fully; remove clothes caught in the door |
| F0 | Lint filter not seated | Take the lint filter out and put it back in |
| PF | Power failure during a cycle | Unplug, hold Start/Pause 5 seconds, restore power |
| CL | Child Lock is on, not a failure | Hold the Child Lock key for 3 seconds |

Before you call: two quick checks
- Not drying or d80? Clean the lint filter, start the dryer and go outside to the vent hood. Strong, warm airflow is what you want. Weak or no airflow points to the vent, not the dryer.
- Gas dryer with no heat? Make sure the gas valve behind the dryer is open. If you smell gas, do not run the dryer; leave and call your gas utility.
Find your LG model number
On most LG front-load dryers the label is on the door frame or inside the door opening. LG dryer models usually start with DLE or DLEX for electric and DLG or DLGX for gas.

Repair or replace?
Repair kits, heating elements, thermal fuses, thermistors, igniters, gas valve coils and door switches are almost always worth repairing on an LG dryer. A failed motor or control board on an older unit is where we give you an honest repair-versus-replace number. Either way, you get a written quote before any work starts, and the $99 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Usually worn drum support rollers or the idler pulley. Over time the squeak gets louder, and a roller can wear down to its hub. Rollers, belt and idler come as a repair kit, and we normally replace them together.
LG says d80 means the exhaust is about 80% restricted; d90 and d95 mean more. On gas models d80 can also mean no gas supply. Clean the lint filter and check the vent hose. If the vent is clear and the code returns, the dryer needs service.
On electric models it is often the heating element, thermal fuse or a thermostat, or a 240V power problem (LG code nP). On gas models, the igniter or gas valve coils. A restricted vent is what usually burns these parts out, so we check it too.
