Bosch ovens are precise, and when one acts up the cause is usually a single part: an igniter, an element, a temperature sensor, or a control or relay board. Our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, test before they replace, and on more than one Bosch call the oven turned out to be fine.

1. Oven not heating
On a Bosch gas range, a weak bake igniter stops the oven from heating. In September 2024 a Bosch gas oven that wasn’t warming at all needed a new igniter, and in March 2025 we were called to another Bosch gas oven that wasn’t heating.
On electric and double ovens it’s usually the element or the board that drives it. In December 2024 a Bosch double oven wouldn’t finish preheating and never reached temperature; the heating element had broken and the control board was replaced as well. In October 2025 a Bosch that took too long to heat and then stopped heating needed a cooling fan and an element.

2. Running too hot, or the temperature seems wrong
In January 2025 and July 2025 we were called to Bosch double ovens running too hot. On one of them the top oven got very hot at any setting while the bottom oven worked normally. In November 2025 a Bosch wall oven needed a new control board and temperature sensor.
Check your thermometer first. In April 2025 a customer was sure a Bosch oven was off temperature, but the thermometer they were using was reading wrong, and the oven was fine. In February 2025 another Bosch with a reported heating problem tested normal on every check.

3. Controls, displays and touch panels
In June 2024 the display of a Bosch oven stopped working and the panel had to be replaced. In July 2026 a Bosch range needed a new touch panel board. In August 2024 we were called to a Bosch range that wouldn’t bake at all.

4. Gas burners and valves
In July 2025 one burner on a Bosch gas range kept sparking and igniting, and three gas valves were replaced. In August 2025 a Bosch burner needed a new base and igniter. In January 2026 two gas burners on a Bosch range in a rental needed replacing. In February 2026 a Bosch gave off a charcoal-like smell when the burners were on. We checked the burners and gas connections and found no fault.

5. Bosch speed ovens and microwave combos
Bosch speed ovens combine a microwave with a convection oven. In November 2024 the display of a Bosch combo had stopped working, and a new fuse fixed it. In March 2026 the microwave in a Bosch speed oven wouldn’t turn on; it needed a new magnetron and thermostat. In August 2026 we were called to a Bosch combo that kept shutting off.

Before you call: three quick checks
- Check the breaker and the gas. A dual-fuel or gas range needs both power and an open gas valve.
- Use a good oven thermometer in the center of the oven, and give it 20 minutes after preheat before you judge the temperature.
- Clean the burner caps and ports if a gas burner clicks or lights unevenly, and let them dry fully.
Repair or replace?
Igniters, elements, fuses, sensors and gas valves are reasonable repairs on a Bosch range. Control boards, touch panels and magnetrons cost more, so on an older unit we give you an honest repair-versus-replace number. Either way, you get a written quote before any work starts, and the $99 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair.

A faulty temperature sensor or control board is the usual cause. Check with a reliable oven thermometer first; on one of our calls the customer's thermometer was the problem.
Moisture or debris around the burner is common. If it keeps sparking after cleaning and drying, a switch or gas valve may need replacing; on one call we replaced three valves.
