Frigidaire dishwashers are built by Electrolux, and most of them use a removable filter over a sump with a combined wash motor and pump underneath. Our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, see the same Frigidaire problems again and again: drain pumps and hoses, spray arms, motor and pump assemblies, inlet valves and door latches.
1. Not draining (i20)
Frigidaire lists i20 as the unit not draining completely, and its first checks are the disposer knockout plug, the drain hose and the filters. Those checks match our calls: in January 2025 a Frigidaire drained again after we cleaned its drain hose, and in February 2024 a Frigidaire stopped draining right after a new disposer went in.
When the hose and filter are clear, it’s usually the drain pump. In September 2024 a Frigidaire that wasn’t draining or washing needed a new drain pump. In January 2025 another Frigidaire with an error code had a leaking drain pump that we replaced, and we cleaned its pressure sensor. In September 2025 a Frigidaire’s drain motor kept running nonstop with its blue light flashing three times.
2. Dishes not clean
Frigidaire spray arms crack, and a cracked arm loses pressure. In February 2024 we replaced a broken lower spray arm, and in October 2025 a Frigidaire had a cracked middle spray arm. In May 2025 a Frigidaire that wasn’t working needed a new motor and pump assembly and a new electronic control.

3. Leaking
In July 2026 a leaking Frigidaire had a water inlet valve that was leaking underneath, and in January 2025 a leak came from the drain pump. Water under the front usually means the valve, a pump seal or a hose connection, so we pull the kick plate and look before we quote.
4. Won’t start, door won’t latch
Frigidaire shows CL or Cd when the door isn’t fully latched. In November 2025 the start button on a Frigidaire Professional did nothing, and a new door latch fixed it. That same month another Frigidaire door wouldn’t close or latch.
Check the power first. In September 2024 the control panel of an older Frigidaire seemed dead, but the outlet had no power; on another outlet the dishwasher worked fine.

Before you call: three quick checks
- Clean the filter and glass trap and clear any food from the sump.
- Check the drain hose. Frigidaire says it should loop at least 32 inches above the floor, with no kinks, and the disposer knockout plug must be removed.
- Reset it. Frigidaire suggests holding Cancel, or turning off power for 3 minutes.
