Whirlpool ranges are some of the most common ovens in Denver-area homes, and we repair them every week. Our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, fix Whirlpool freestanding and slide-in ranges, double-oven ranges, wall ovens and oven-microwave combos. The repairs we do most often are bake and broil igniters, power connections and terminals, control boards, sensors and thermostats, spark modules and knobs, and glass cooktops.

1. Gas oven not heating: igniters
On Whirlpool gas ranges, a worn bake igniter is the most common reason the oven stays cold. In January 2024 a Whirlpool gas oven would not turn on; in December 2024 and February 2025 we replaced igniters on three Whirlpool double-oven ranges; in April 2025 a Whirlpool with a breaker problem also needed a new igniter; and in June 2025 another oven was back in service after an igniter replacement. In August 2025 a Whirlpool that smelled of gas needed a new broil igniter.

2. Oven dead after self-clean or not heating at all
Self-clean runs the oven extremely hot, and the weakest connection is often what fails. In December 2024 a Whirlpool stove that would not heat needed its power connection repaired; in January 2025 another needed a new terminal; in May 2025 a Whirlpool that died after self-clean needed its control board power supply restored; and in June 2025 we repaired the power supply connectors on another oven. In March 2025 and May 2026 Whirlpool ovens that would not heat needed a new bake element.
3. Controls, sensors and F-E codes
Whirlpool lists F3E0 as a possible problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control or the wiring. In September 2025 a Whirlpool range showed F3; the temperature sensors tested fine and the control board was the cause. In May 2025 a Whirlpool wall oven that would not heat needed a new control board and thermostat, in May 2025 a Whirlpool range whose burners stopped after cleaning needed a new control board, and in August 2025 another oven with no heat needed one too.
In May 2026 a Whirlpool that would not light the oven or broiler needed a new cooling fan and spark module.
4. Burners and knobs
In February 2026 a Whirlpool stove with knob and lighting problems needed four new knobs and a cleaned center burner head. In March 2026 an oven knob would not turn, and a new control gas valve fixed it.
5. Glass cooktops and doors
In November and December 2024 two Whirlpool electric ranges needed new glass tops; the glass can usually be replaced on its own. In May 2025 the door of a Whirlpool oven-microwave combo stayed locked and needed a new console, and in December 2024 a combo microwave needed a new switch.

Whirlpool range codes
From Whirlpool’s product help pages for ranges. Codes vary by model; check your manual for yours.
| Code | What Whirlpool says it may point to |
|---|---|
| F1 E0 | The oven control or its wiring. |
| F1 E1 | The oven control or its wiring. |
| F2 E1 | The user interface or keypad, the control, or the wiring. |
| F3 E0 | The oven temperature sensor, the control, or the wiring. |
| F6 E0 | The oven control, the appliance manager, or the wiring. |
Before you call: three quick checks
- Reset the power. Whirlpool recommends turning off the breaker for one minute, then watching whether the code returns.
- Check the gas supply valve behind a gas range is fully open.
- Let the oven cool after self-clean before trying to bake.
Repair or replace?
Igniters, elements, sensors, knobs, valves and glass tops cost far less than a new range, so most Whirlpool oven repairs are worth doing. When an older range needs a control board and a gas valve together, we give you an honest repair-versus-replace number. Either way, you get a written quote before any work starts, and the $99 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most often the bake igniter is worn: it glows but cannot open the gas valve. A broil igniter, a control board or a loose power connection are less common causes.
Whirlpool says F3E0 may point to a problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control or the wiring. Turn off the breaker for one minute; if the code returns, the range needs service.
Self-clean runs very hot. On our calls, oven failures after self-clean came from burnt power connections, a failed control board or a door latch problem.
Yes. The glass top can usually be replaced on its own, without replacing the whole range. We quote the part and labor in writing first.
The service call is $99 and is waived if you go ahead with the repair. You get a written quote for parts and labor before we start.
