ZLINE ranges have become common in Denver-area kitchens, and our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, repair them along with ZLINE refrigerators and dishwashers. The ZLINE repairs we do most often are spark tips and igniters, oven heating elements, burner and thermostat problems, and installation of ZLINE Autograph appliances.

ZLINE products and series we repair
ZLINE range model codes start with the collection letter: S for Paramount, C for Classic, M for Marino and H for Select, followed by GR (gas range) or DR (dual-fuel range) and the width. Autograph Edition models add a Z (SGRZ, CGRZ, RAZ) plus an accent suffix such as -CB (Champagne Bronze), -G (Polished Gold) or -MB (Matte Black).

Ignition problems on ZLINE gas burners
The most common ZLINE range call is a burner that will not light or will not stop clicking. ZLINE’s own manuals list the causes: wet or dirty igniters, burner caps that are not seated, a failed ignition (spark) module, and reversed electrical polarity, which causes continuous sparking. After a boil-over, drying the igniter usually fixes it; if burners click with nothing wet, we check outlet polarity and the spark module. Good news: ZLINE covers gas burners, including spark tips, under a limited lifetime warranty.
Gas oven that will not heat
When the cooktop works but the gas oven stays cold, the bake igniter is the first suspect. ZLINE’s manual names the faulty igniter, the thermostat and the safety valve. A hot-surface igniter can weaken with age: it still glows, but it never draws enough current to open the safety valve. Our test is simple: with the oven calling for heat, 120 V at the igniter but no orange glow means the igniter has failed. No voltage at the igniter points us toward the thermostat or control. Most of these parts are ZLINE-specific, so we test before ordering.
The ZLINE RG gas range recall (CPSC 23-083)
On December 29, 2022, ZLINE and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Recall 23-083 for about 28,000 ZLINE 30″ and 36″ RG gas ranges (RG30, RGS-30, RGB-30, RG36, RGS-36, RGB-36) sold from February 2019 through December 2022. The oven can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. On January 26, 2023, the recall was expanded to 19 48″ RG models. The remedy is a free in-home repair or a refund from ZLINE. If you own an RG range, stop using the oven until it has been repaired; the cooktop can still be used. To check your unit, find the serial number (see the table below) and look it up at zlinekitchen.com/recalls or on the CPSC website, or call ZLINE’s recall line at 888-359-4482. Recall repairs are done through ZLINE, not by independent repair companies.
What we actually find on ZLINE calls
The tables above list what usually fails. These are the repairs we have actually done on ZLINE appliances, with photos from our own jobs.
1. Burners and spark ignition
In May 2025 a ZLINE stove would not light, and a new ignition spark tip fixed it. In April and May 2026 we installed the front legs on a ZLINE range and replaced its range indicator and spark tips; when one of the burners acted up again, we came back to it.

2. Ovens not heating
In August 2025 a ZLINE range oven was not heating; we installed the owner’s replacement lower heating element and repaired an electrical contact. In January 2026 another ZLINE oven was not heating and needed a new oven igniter. In August 2026 we were called to a ZLINE gas range that smelled of gas when the oven started, after other technicians had already replaced the bake and broil burner tubes and adjusted the gas mixture, and to a ZLINE stove that shorted out after the owner replaced the oven lights.

3. Refrigerators and dishwashers
In August 2024 a ZLINE refrigerator stopped working and we diagnosed its control boards. In April 2026 a ZLINE dishwasher needed a circulation pump that ZLINE was not selling at the time, which is worth knowing before you choose between repair and replacement. In June 2026 we installed a ZLINE Autograph refrigerator and dishwasher.

ZLINE error codes and what they mean
ZLINE gas and dual-fuel ranges do not have error codes. We checked the current CGR, HGR, SGR, dual-fuel and older RG manuals, and none of them list any. These ranges use knob controls, so diagnosis is by symptom. If you find a website listing “ZLINE range E1/E2” codes, it is not from ZLINE: third-party code lists we reviewed contradict ZLINE’s own manuals. Range hood manuals also list no codes.
ZLINE’s electronic appliances do show codes, and each product family uses its own scheme. The same code means different things on different products: E1 on a dishwasher is a water fill problem, E1 on a freestanding refrigerator is a sensor failure, and the RBIV built-in uses F-codes instead. Always match the code to your model. Write down the exact code and your model number before you call.
Wall ovens (AWS, WAS, AWSS)
| Code | Meaning | What usually fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| F03 | Door latch mechanism problem | Turn the breaker off and on; the oven runs a latch self-test. If it persists, door lock motor/switch assembly or control |
| F04 | Door latch mechanism problem | Same as F03 |
| Other F codes | Not defined by ZLINE; the manual says power may need to be reset | Cycle power; if it returns, note the code and call for service |
Related wall oven symptoms from the same manuals: a door that stays locked after cooling or a dark display is usually cleared with a breaker reset. A cooling fan that keeps running after the oven is off is normal. A cooling fan that does not run during cooking is not: stop using the oven and call for service.
Induction cooktops (RCIND-24/30/36)
| Code | Meaning | What usually fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| E2 / E3 | Supply voltage too low | Check the circuit and supply voltage, then restart |
| E4 / E5 | Temperature sensor failure | Sensor or induction board |
| E6 / E9 | Poor heat dissipation | Let it cool and restart; check the cooling fan and venting clearance |
| E7 / E8 | Temperature sensor failure / IGBT failure | Induction power board (IGBT) or sensor |
| Error light | Component failure | Disconnect power and call for service |
These codes come from the RCIND cooktop manual. We have not found published codes for RAIND induction ranges, so do not assume they match.
Dishwashers (DW7713, DW7714, DW-RG)
| Code | Meaning | What usually fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| E1 | Flow meter did not detect the set water volume within 4 minutes | Water supply off, kinked inlet hose, inlet valve, flow meter, pressure switch, drain siphoning, board |
| E3 | Water did not reach set temperature within 90 minutes | Heater, thermistor, control board |
| E4 | Water in the base pan tripped the float switch (leak or overflow) | Shut off water, dry the base pan; check for over-sudsing, an unlevel unit, the float switch, drain pump or a leak |
| E6 | Thermal sensor open | Thermistor, wiring or board |
| E7 | Thermal sensor shorted | Thermistor, wiring or board |
| E9 | A button held or stuck for more than 30 seconds | Stuck keypad or control panel |
| Ed | Display-to-main-board communication lost for more than 30 seconds | Harness, display board, main board |
| F1 (DWV-18/24) | Overflow or leak | Unplug, shut off the water, call for service |
ZLINE’s manual notes E1 and E4 display in factory mode. Codes for DWMT (Monument and Tallac) models are not published in the sources we have.
Freestanding French-door refrigerators (RFM, RFM-W)
| Code | Meaning | What usually fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| E0 | Ice maker error (RFM-W: freezer ice maker initialization failed) | Ice maker module or harness |
| E1 | Refrigerator compartment temperature sensor failure | Sensor, harness or board |
| E2 | Freezer compartment temperature sensor failure | Replace the sensor |
| E3 (RFM-W) | Flex Drawer sensor failure | Replace the sensor |
| E4 (RFM-W) | Refrigerator defrost sensor failure | Replace the sensor |
| E5 | Freezer defrost sensor failure | Replace the sensor; check for an iced evaporator |
| E6 | Display board to main board communication error | Harness, display board, main board |
| E7 | Ambient temperature sensor failure | Replace the sensor |
| EH | Humidity sensor failure | Replace the sensor |
ZLINE notes that most of these faults still allow the refrigerator to cool, but the unit should be serviced. RFM-W models also have refrigerator-side ice maker codes in the F and C range; the published meanings for those are unclear, so we diagnose them on site.
Built-in refrigerators (RBIV 30″/36″)
| Code | Meaning | What usually fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| F1 | Refrigerator compartment air sensor fault | Replace the sensor or check the harness |
| F2 | Refrigerator defrost sensor fault | Replace the sensor; check defrost |
| F3 | Flex/special compartment air sensor fault | Replace the sensor |
| F4 | Freezer compartment air sensor fault | Replace the sensor |
| F5 | Freezer defrost sensor fault | Replace the sensor; check defrost |
| F6 | Ambient sensor fault | Replace the sensor |
| CE | Communication failure | Harness, display or main board |
| 1E | Refrigerator compartment fan fault | Fan motor or ice blocking the fan |
| 2E | Freezer compartment fan fault | Fan motor or ice blocking the fan |
| 3E | Condenser fan fault | Condenser fan motor; clean the condenser |
Code still on the display? Call 720-230-1229. We answer 24/7 and can usually be there the same or next day.
Before you call: safe checks
- Seat the burner caps and dry the igniters. After a spill, let the cooktop cool, wipe the igniter dry and make sure each cap sits flat on its burner base. Many clicking and no-light calls end here.
- Reset the breaker for 30 seconds. This clears many wall oven F03/F04 latch codes and dark displays, and resets ZLINE dishwashers and refrigerators.
- Check the dishwasher water valve. On E1, make sure the supply valve under the sink is fully open and the inlet hose is not kinked.
- Clean the dishwasher filter and spray arms. ZLINE recommends checking the spray arms at least weekly. Over-sudsing from the wrong detergent can cause E4.
- Clean the hood filters. Grease-saturated filters cause noise and poor draw. Wash the grease filters in hot water or the dishwasher.
- Check your recall status. If you have an RG30, RG36 or 48″ RG range, look up your serial number before anything else.
If you smell gas, do not light anything or operate switches. Leave the house and call your gas utility. Do not adjust gas valves, regulators or orifices yourself.
Denver and high-altitude notes for ZLINE
Altitude matters more for ZLINE gas ranges than for almost any other brand we service, because ZLINE says so directly in its manuals. Denver sits at about 5,280 feet. Here is what ZLINE’s installation and user manuals state:
- ZLINE asks owners to make sure the altitude of the home is suitable for gas cooking products, and warns that at higher altitudes you may have issues with gas pressure that affect product performance.
- ZLINE tells owners to consult their local gas company before purchasing or installing a ZLINE gas range.
- The ZLINE warranty excludes service for high-altitude gas pressure issues. ZLINE states that a high-altitude pressure regulator must be sourced by the customer.
- ZLINE does not publish a high-altitude orifice kit or derating table in the manuals we reviewed.
What this means in practice: if your ZLINE range in Denver, Boulder or the foothills has yellow, lifting or weak flames, soot on the pans, or ignition that is hit-and-miss, the cause may be gas pressure or setup for altitude rather than a failed part, and ZLINE will not cover it. The ranges ship set for natural gas, with a manifold pressure spec of 4.0″ W.C. for natural gas and 10.0″ W.C. for LP. A qualified technician should verify the regulator, the manifold pressure and the flame characteristics at your altitude. Start with your gas utility, as ZLINE recommends, and if the regulator needs to be replaced, ZLINE’s position is that the high-altitude regulator is the owner’s purchase. Improper LP conversion is also excluded from the warranty, so have conversions done by a qualified installer using the LP orifices supplied with the range.
Find your ZLINE model and serial number
| Product | Where the tag is |
|---|---|
| CGR / HGR / SGR gas ranges (30/36/48″) | Right front edge, visible with the oven door open (some SGR30: on the back) |
| Dual-fuel ranges (CDR, MDR, SDR, PCDR, PMDR, PSDR) | Rating tag on the right front edge |
| RG gas ranges (older) | Under the front edge of the range top; older units on the back. Post-2020 units also have a label under the right side of the range top |
| Induction cooktop (RCIND) | Underside of the cooktop |
| Wall ovens (AWS, WAS) | Rating label; location varies by model |
| Dishwashers (18″/24″) | Right-hand side of the inner door |
| RBIV built-in refrigerator | 30″: left side of the inner door. 36″: left side of the left door |
| Freestanding refrigerator | Inside, left side above the crisper drawer |
Do not remove the rating label: ZLINE says doing so voids the warranty, and a serial number is required for every warranty claim and recall lookup.
ZLINE maintenance schedule
| Task | How often | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wipe the cooktop and spills | After each use, once cool | Acidic and sugary spills damage finishes; keeps igniters dry |
| Clean burner spreader slots | Routinely | Clear ports light evenly; use a small-gauge wire or needle |
| Wash grates, burner caps and spreaders by hand | As needed | Hot water or white vinegar; not the dishwasher |
| Hood grease filters | Monthly | Grease buildup causes noise, poor draw and fire risk |
| Hood charcoal filters (ductless) | Every 3–6 months, at least yearly | Spent charcoal stops filtering odors |
| Hood grease cup | Every 2–3 months | Prevents drips and overflow |
| Dishwasher spray arms | At least weekly | Clogged arms cause poor cleaning |
| RBIV refrigerator condenser | Every 6 months | Prevents 3E condenser fan faults and warm cabinets |
| RBIV water filter (RBIV-205A) | About every 6 months | The filter timer runs 130 days; discard the first two bins of ice after a change |
| Wall oven self-clean | As needed, at least 24 hours between cycles | Remove racks; no oven cleaners, liners or foil |
Two ZLINE-specific rules: never clean or rub the oven door gasket, and never use bleach, alcohol wipes, steel wool or chloride cleaners on the stainless. Brass burners develop a natural patina; that is not damage.
Factory warranty vs. our repair warranty
| Product | ZLINE factory warranty |

| Range hoods | 3 years parts-only; limited lifetime on the motor |
| Microwaves | 2 years parts-only |
ZLINE coverage starts at delivery, applies to the original purchaser only, and covers single-family residential use. Vacation rentals and commercial use are excluded, which matters for Denver landlords and short-term rental owners. Open-box, second-hand and unauthorized-retailer purchases, improper LP conversion and high-altitude gas pressure issues are also excluded.
We repair ZLINE appliances in or out of warranty, and the choice of who does the work is yours. Some owners call us during the warranty period because they want a faster appointment or a technician who works on ZLINE every day. If you prefer to file a claim with ZLINE, keep your proof of purchase handy; if you want us to fix it, you get a written quote before any work starts. ZLINE’s warranty terms say repairs by outside service can affect remaining factory coverage, so check your terms first if keeping that coverage matters to you. Every repair we do carries our 90-day warranty on parts and labor. We use genuine ZLINE OEM parts whenever available, sourced through zlineparts.com, and we tell you when a part has to be ordered.
Still having trouble with your ZLINE? Call 720-230-1229. We answer 24/7 and can usually be there the same or next day.
Repair or replace your ZLINE?
Most ZLINE failures are repairable parts: igniters, spark modules, bake igniters, elements, sensors, latch assemblies, fan motors and dishwasher valves. On a ZLINE range or wall oven those repairs almost always make sense, since a new pro-style range costs many thousands of dollars and burners carry lifetime coverage. On refrigerators, a sensor or fan fault is an easy repair. A sealed-system failure is a bigger decision: the sealed system has 5 years of parts-only coverage, so if your unit is inside that window the part may be covered and you pay labor. Outside it, we will quote the job in writing and tell you honestly when replacement is the better call.

No. ZLINE's gas and dual-fuel range manuals, including the CGR, HGR, SGR and older RG models, list no error codes because these ranges use knob controls. Problems are diagnosed by symptom, such as clicking igniters or an oven that will not heat. Error codes appear on ZLINE wall ovens, induction cooktops, dishwashers and refrigerators.
Both codes mean a problem with the door latch mechanism. Turn the breaker off and back on so the oven can run its latch self-test. If the code returns, the door lock motor and switch assembly or the control needs service.
CPSC Recall 23-083 covers about 28,000 ZLINE 30" and 36" RG gas ranges sold February 2019 through December 2022, and was expanded on January 26, 2023 to 19 48" RG models. The oven can emit dangerous carbon monoxide. Look up your serial number at zlinekitchen.com/recalls or on the CPSC site, or call 888-359-4482, and stop using the oven until it is repaired.
No. ZLINE's warranty excludes service for high-altitude gas pressure issues, and its manuals say a high-altitude pressure regulator must be sourced by the customer. ZLINE recommends consulting your gas company before installing. We repair ZLINE appliances, including altitude-related problems the warranty excludes, with a 90-day parts and labor warranty.
