Electrolux refrigerators are built by the same company as Frigidaire and share many of their parts. Many Electrolux French door models have two ice makers, one in the fresh food door and one in the freezer. Our technicians, with more than 30 years of combined experience and over 10,000 appliance repairs behind the company, see the same Electrolux problems again and again: ice makers, ice buildup that turns into leaks, control boards, and sealed-system cooling problems.

1. Ice makers
Ice makers are the most common Electrolux refrigerator call we get. In October 2024 an Electrolux that stopped making ice needed a new ice maker, and in March 2025 another needed the same. In March 2026 an Electrolux with two ice makers had both fail, and we replaced both of them.

2. Ice buildup and water leaks
In December 2025 an Electrolux had ice building up inside and was leaking. When frost and ice collect on the evaporator or around the ice maker, the defrost water can’t drain the way it should, and it ends up on the shelves or the floor. Clearing the ice is only part of the repair; the cause has to be found too, whether it’s the defrost system, a drain, or a door that isn’t sealing.
Electrolux refrigerator not cooling, or no ice? Call 720-230-1229. We answer 24/7 and can usually be there the same or next day.
3. Not cooling
In July 2026 an Electrolux wasn’t cooling and showed EF on the display. In December 2025 an Electrolux freezer wasn’t freezing. When an Electrolux isn’t cooling, we check the fans, the defrost system and the condenser before the compressor.
4. Controls, power and codes
In July 2026 an Electrolux turned itself off and stopped cooling, and a new control board brought it back. In March 2025 an Electrolux was showing an error on its display. In July 2025 an Electrolux needed a new water filter base and filter.

Before you call: three quick checks
- Check the temperature settings and that nothing blocks the vents inside the freezer and fresh food sections.
- Check that both ice makers are turned on and the water supply valve is open.
- Replace the water filter if it’s overdue, and make sure it’s seated all the way.
Repair or replace?
Ice makers, filter bases, fans and control boards are reasonable repairs on an Electrolux refrigerator. Sealed-system work costs more, so on an older unit we give you an honest repair-versus-replace number. Either way, you get a written quote before any work starts, and the $99 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Check that the ice maker is on and the water valve is open. On our calls the ice maker itself had usually failed, and on one refrigerator with two ice makers both needed replacing.
Usually the defrost system, a blocked drain or a door that isn't sealing. Removing the ice helps for a while, but the cause has to be fixed or it comes back.
Check the outlet and breaker first. On one of our calls an Electrolux that turned off and stopped cooling needed a new control board.
Electrolux and Frigidaire are made by the same company, and many refrigerator parts are shared between them.
The service call is $99 and is waived if you go ahead with the repair. You get a written quote for parts and labor before we start, so there are no surprises.
